Fantasy Football 2021: Late Waiver IDP Pickups – Week 8

fantasy football

Week 8 is here! After surviving the massive amount of teams on byes last week, there are only two teams not playing this week. There’s almost a full slate of games to help kick off the second half of the fantasy football season. Whether you’ve had a great start to the season, middle of the road, or are at the bottom, keep plugging away! With the extra week of the fantasy regular season it makes it even that much more enticing to keep on going. Remember, a 6-1 team in first half can easily go 6-8 and 1-6 can go 8-6! The key is to stay on top of the waiver wires weekly!

Week 8 Pickups

Jamin Davis WFT – Davis played in a season-high 98 percent of the snaps last week. The first few weeks were bumpy for the rookie, as he was still trying to acclimate himself to the NFL speed. However, Davis has five total tackles last week and has a combined 16 tackles the over the last two games. The rookie appears to be trending upwards and can be a solid streamer during bye weeks.

Alex Singleton PHI – This guy just flat out produces. Singleton had 120 total tackles last season and already has 76 thus far! In his last three games, he’s had 38 total tackles. My only concern is that his playing time the last couple of games has been decreasing. It’s something to monitor, but Singleton is also wearing the green dot on the back of his helmet. Grab Singleton!

Justin Strnad DEN – The Broncos LB core has been hit hard this season; absolutely decimated with injuries. However, now is the time for the lesser known players to make an impact. Enter second year player Justin Strnad. He played in 100 percent of the snaps last week and recorded six total tackles; solid production with a lot of playing time. The Broncos are really thin at linebacker right now and can use any type of production. Strnad has a good matchup against the WFT this week, and should get decent tackle volume.

Watchlist

Jarrad Davis NYJ – Davis is set to make his season debut this week. The Jets have been decimated at the linebacker position with injuries. Their run defense has been surprisingly bad thus far, but both C.J. Mosley and Davis have yet to play side-by-side. Keep an eye for Davis as he returns from injury. He can be a big piece for the defense and accumulate loads of tackles, as teams have been running on the Jets at will so far this season. Opportunity creates points in fantasy football, and Davis could find himself with plenty of opportunity in the second half of the season.
